Terms & Conditions


These Terms & Conditions shall apply to all Guests and shall be incorporated into every contract between the Guest and the Guest House.

Making a booking to stay at the Guest House shall constitute the Guest's unqualified acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Payment

Guests will require a valid debit or credit card to secure and confirm their booking.

Payments will be taken, using bank card details provided at the time of booking, as follows:
  • Guests who have booked directly with Churston Way Lodge: Payment will be taken, using the debit/credit card details provided, within 48 hours prior to guests' scheduled arrival.
  • Guests who have booked via a third party, such as booking.com: Payment will be taken, using the debit/credit card details provided, 14 days prior to guests' scheduled arrival or immediately if the scheduled arrival is less than 14 days from the booking date.
  • A non refundable 10% deposit will be charged at the time of booking where any of the following occurs:
    • Where guests have made a booking of either 6 nights or more
    • Where the total cost of a booking exceeds £500
    • When individual bookings are identified as being part of a single group and where the total booking value of these rooms combined exceeds £500
Should the Guest House be unable to charge the card when payment is due, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

Cancellation

Guests may cancel their bookings with no additional charges and with any refundable deposit refunded within the following time limits:

  • For bookings made directly with Churston Way Lodge guests may cancel up to 7 calendar days prior to the Arrival Date. In the event that the Guest cancels the booking after this time then the full amount of the balance will be payable.
  • For bookings made with third parties, such as Online Travel Agents, (e.g. Booking.com), guests may cancel up to 14 calendar days for bookings made with Online Travel Agents (e.g. Booking.com). In the event that the Guest cancels the booking after this time then the full amount of the balance will be payable.
The Guest House shall be entitled and authorised to deduct such amounts from the Guest's debit/credit card.

The Guest House recommends that Guests take out an appropriate insurance policy to cover any losses which they may suffer in connection with the cancellation of the booking.

Early departure by the Guest before the confirmed departure date shall be treated as a cancellation and no refund of the balance paid shall be due.

The Guest House reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time. Such cancellations will be exceptional, but may occur for any reason, for example serious accident or illness, damage to the property by house fire, Act of God or other force majeure. The guest house cannot be held liable for losses that you incur as a result of this cancellation. The guest house will refund you in full and do our best to find you suitable alternative accommodation. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation.

Liability of the Guest

Guests are liable for, and shall indemnify the Guest House for:
  • any damage caused whether accidental or deliberate.
  • items found to be missing from the room after departure
  • cleaning if a Guest smokes in any room.

  • The Guest House shall be entitled and authorised to deduct such amounts from the Guest's debit/credit card. Guests should notify the owners of any damage, whether accidental or deliberate, at the earliest opportunity and certainly prior to departure.

    The Guest House shall be entitled and authorised to deduct such reasonable amounts from the Guest's debit/credit card where items are found to be missing on departure.

  • Guests must NOT bring pets, other than guide dogs, into the Guest House unless pre-arranged.
  • Guests must NOT bring any illegal or hazardous substances into any part of the Guest House.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Guests must complete a registration form prior to their arrival.
  • Only registered guests are permitted to stay at the guest house. No additional, unregistered, guests are permitted to stay.
  • The Guest House will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.
  • The Guest House reserves the right to refuse the bookings made through third parties.
  • Children aged 4 years or older can be accommodated at the property.
  • Where guests are deemed to have broken any of these rules, it is at the discretion of the owners to require guests to leave the property immediately. Under such circumstances no refund will be due and no future bookings will be accepted. Where guests have booked through a third party, for example an Online Travel Agent such as booking.com, we will notify them of the incident.

    Parking

    Off road car parking is provided for all our guests at no charge. In busy periods this is limited to one car per room. There is generally parking available on the street outside the guest house for additional vehicles.

    Guests leave their cars in our car park at their own risk.

    Arrivals and Checking In

    The Guest House is open for Checking in between 3pm and 8pm. Early arrivals maybe possible by prior arrangement.
    A surcharge of GBP 10 per hour applies for arrivals outside check-in hours. All requests for late arrival are subject to confirmation by the property. Arrivals after 10pm cannot be accommodated.

    Breakfast

    With advance notice, Churston Way Lodge can cater for vegetarian and gluten-free diets by providing vegetarian sausages and gluten-free bread and/or sausages. Please note that we can only cater for vegan or dairy-free diets within the limits of our menu and by providing dairy-free milk (for stays of 2 nights or more). We cannot provide other dairy-free products but we can store guests' items with advance agreement.

    Access to the Guest House

    Kindly note that some of the accommodation is located on the first floor and is accessible via stairs only. Therefore it may not be suitable for guests with mobility impairment. Guests should refer to our Access Statement and contact the Guest House directly to discuss whether we can meet your needs prior to making a booking.
